$1,500 In Scholarships Awarded To Two Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School Seniors

TAUNTON, MA, June 1, 2023 — Bristol County Savings Bank (BCSB), through its Foundation, recently awarded $1,500 in scholarships for two Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School graduating seniors based on merit and financial need.  The scholarships are managed by the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation (CSF) of Dighton-Rehoboth and were awarded through the Charles and Janice Terry Scholarship Fund in honor of Charles Terry’s dedication to the Bank while serving on its Board of Directors before his retirement in 2010.  CSF of Dighton-Rehoboth is comprised of residents from Dighton and Rehoboth, Massachusetts who volunteer their time and energies toward raising money for educational scholarships. CSF of Dighton-Rehoboth is a program of Dollars for Scholars, a Scholarship America organization which is the largest national private scholarship organization in the United States.

“Fostering relationships in the Town of Rehoboth is a priority for my administration,” said Bill Runey, Superintendent of Schools at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional Schools.  “Bristol County Savings Bank’s commitment to the success of the students at our high school is a testament to our mantra that “together, we are DR!”

“One of the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation’s areas of focus is education, so we were immediately drawn to the work the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Dighton-Rehoboth volunteers are doing and are proud to do our part to help a couple graduating seniors and their families with the financing of a college education,” said Patrick Murray, President & CEO of Bristol County Savings Bank and President of the Bristol County Savings Charitable Foundation (BCSCF).  Murray added that since the BCSCF was formed in 1996, more than $28 million has been committed to hundreds of different non-profits.  In 2022, the BCSCF awarded a record $2.3 million to various 501(c)(3) organizations.

Bristol County Savings Bank is an active supporter in the communities in which it serves.
